Red Scarf Girl- Theme

In Red Scarf Girl, I think the theme is, always have the courage so you can show your real thoughts and feelings. Ji-li for most of the book is a coward because she did not want other people to make fun of her even more. However, she at least had the courage to push aside her dream for her broken family. At this part, she shows a more courageous self more than others combined. Other people showed courage by protecting other people or fighting against the Red Guards. By showing these courageous people to Ji-li, her thoughts changed slowly and slowly but she changed in the end. Thus making her more courageous by letting Ji-li chose her family over herself. At the end, her perfect life is less important, the promise she made to her mother and her grandmother is now more important.

Your posts are sooo long!!
Mine are like .... hehehe

Ki-Li's such a coward in the beginning and some parts in the middle of the book. (Just like me! jkjk) She doesn't know how to be rebellious and also is a bit stupid in some parts, like when she was following stuff that Mao said that were apparantly not right. Good thing that we're living in a free country~!!:) Though, at the end of the book, she learns that she is tilted to the wrong direction and plucks out courage to follow her family and the people she loves.

Anyway, I love your blog~ It's so clean!;)
