Drama: Anne Frank: 3.) Theme: What is the Author's message to the planet?

I think that the author's message to the planet about this play is that humans are crucial to one another and that prejudice lurks everywhere anytime in history. Especially in WW2 prejudice was a big role, some people hated Jews because Hitler said so, others didn't know why, especially people in Germany was like this. Why? Hitler became a dictator of Germany, so he told the people of Germany that people who are not 'Aryans' ( If you don't know what Aryan means look it up in the dictionary), are making them not succeed or get higher up in society. So, that is what the people believe and since most German Aryans did not know the horrors of the truth, and when they did they probably noticed their prejudice towards the victims. So, I think that the theme is that prejudice lurks everywhere, present, future, and past. ( May 4, 2008)

I think that also, another theme is that have hope even though you're in a really bad position, such as Anne was in. Also, I think that Anne always happy and cheerful and she makes full of one day and her ignorance and sense of humor and her curiosity helps others, especially her father and Mrs. Van Daan, forget about that they are trapped, even for a second. For example, she does not let small matters get her lose her identity. While others, become more and more frustrated and angered and slowly start to lose hope and most of them are too frustrated to be cheerful and happy and they slowly start to lose their identity. I think that Anne's cheerfulness helped others in the Annex and others who encountered her have a little hope and be cheerful even for a second, this sense of cheerfulness excludes Mr. Van Daan. Also, if you do have hope then you can indure hardships because you have hope that you will live to tell your story. (May 5, 2008)
